Most of Cather's letters were written after the Armistice, either from Germany or posts in the United States. Topics in letters written in the U.S. include life and leisure activities in a camp at Devens, Mass.; the War Department Committee on Education and Special Training, Boston; Camp Humphreys, Va.; and Washington, D.C. There are two brief mentions of General Pershing and intolerant remarks about an interracial couple.
